First and foremost - I absolutely adore children. I went to school to be an elementary school teacher and have been a nanny for 5 years. I love the wonderment of children and bring that out in every photo-shoot.

Other random things: I used to work for Disney as a Children's Activity Coordinator - I love Disney! I have the most amazing husband ever (I know everyone says that, but it couldn't be more true!) and an extremely smart dog named Jessie Girl. I am a perfectionist and work extremely hard to get the "perfect" shot every time. I love nature and being outdoors, especially at the beach! I am a total romantic and cry at movies like "Sleepless in Seattle" and "Serendipity" and I am always the one tearing up at weddings!

I am extremely passionate about my profession and I would love to meet you and capture your memories!

Spring is in the Air! | Charlotte, NC Portrait Locations

Sunday has always been my favorite day of the week. This Sunday, I was surprised to wake up and find out that Spring has arrived! The Cherry Blossoms have begun to bloom, I actually broke a sweat outside (83 degrees!), and my husband reminded me that Spring training baseball is starting!

I decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and venture out looking for future locations for portrait photoshoots (I love a good “Sunday Drive!”). John & I drove over to UNC Charlotte to check out the campus and the Botanical Gardens.

This is a beautiful area in the Japanese Gardens that I just loved. The greenery is just starting to bloom after a long winter – I can’t wait to see what it looks like in a month from now!

I LOVE this sunshine mosaic that I found in the gardens. This would make a fun backdrop for portraits for sure!

I absolutely adore this red bridge and the shadows! The possibilities for portraits in this location are endless!

And this last one is from near my home! Spring is definitely in the air & I am looking forward to some amazing Spring photoshoots coming up! Happy early Spring, Charlotte!

Love is Everywhere | Ballantyne Children’s Photographer

It’s that time of year again. Candy, chocolate, singing bears and heart-shaped balloons are everywhere. As a matter of fact, I am sitting here looking at a beautiful balloon bouquet my husband brought home last night (the anniversary of when he proposed to me – SUCH a romantic!). Some people are vehemently anti-Valentine’s Day, but I am of the opinion that celebrating LOVE is a great thing. Love is such a beautiful thing and can be found just about everywhere you look, every day of the year. In your home, in nature, in your children’s eyes.

As a photographer, one of my favorite things is seeing the beauty of love in everyday occurrences. Here are some portraits I have taken this month. Sometimes we can learn so much from little ones – they do everything with such LOVE & enthusiasm. Whether it is learning to crawl or painting a picture.
